DESCRIPTION:The construction industry\, including the deep foundation industry\, significantly contributes to the CO2 emissions. As sustainability becomes increasingly crucial\, our profession must take proactive steps to reduce our carbon footprint. \nDecarbonization is a vital strategy\, focusing on more efficient designs that reduce the volumes of concrete and steel used\, and incorporating materials with lower carbon footprints. However\, we must also prioritize the reuse of existing foundations as the most sustainable option. \n3rd edition of the Conference on Foundation Decarbonization and Re-use \nFollowing the success of our initial conferences in March 2023 and May 2024\, we are excited to announce the 3rd edition of the Conference on Decarbonization and Re-use of Foundations. This event will take place in Amsterdam\, The Netherlands\, in March 2026. \nConference topics \nIn this third edition\, we aim to delve deeper into various aspects of foundation decarbonization and reuse. Our conference will feature four sessions focusing on: \n\nSession 1: The decision-making process regarding foundation decarbonization and reuse\nSession 2: The inspection and testing of existing foundations to assess their suitability for reuse\nSession 3: The design process when foundations are decarbonized or reused\nSession 4: The construction phase when foundations are decarbonized or reused\n\nEach session is introduced by a keynote speaker\, followed by the presentation of research papers from experts around the world. The sessions conclude with an extended Q&A session\, encouraging active participation and discussion. \nOne-day site-visit \nOn the third day of the event\, attendees will have the opportunity to visit job sites in and around Amsterdam where foundation reuse is being implemented. These site visits aim to provide practical insights and firsthand experiences of sustainable foundation practices. \nWe invite you to join us in Amsterdam to share your experiences\, listen to expert presentations\, and participate in insightful panel discussions. Together\, we can drive progress in this vital area and contribute to a more sustainable future in the deep foundation industry.

SUMMARY:Circulaire Economie: Van goed begin naar booming business
DESCRIPTION:De cirkel is rond: Nederland is in 2050 volledig circulair. In een circulaire economie gaan we zuinig en slim om met grondstoffen en producten. Dat leidt tot minder uitstoot van broeikasgassen\, minder milieuvervuiling en meer biodiversiteit. Dat is goed nieuws. Met een circulaire economie wordt Nederland bovendien minder afhankelijk van andere landen voor grondstoffen en dat biedt kansen. Die kansen en ook de uitdagingen staan centraal tijdens de Nationale Conferentie Circulaire Economie 2024. \nEr wordt vooruitgang geboekt en dat vieren we\, maar we komen ook bijeen om de volgende stap te zetten. Een serieuze stap: alle proefballonnen zijn nu wel opgelaten en het is tijd om circulair tot de nieuwe standaard te maken. Om dat over vijfentwintig jaar voor elkaar te hebben gebokst\, gaan we ‘opschalen’. Daarvoor moeten bedrijven en overheden niet alleen klaar zijn voor nieuwe Europese wetgeving\, maar ook weten hoe ze circulaire groei kunnen financieren. Ook moeten burgers meer betrokken worden bij het maken van de duurzame omslag.
